VA-75 Return to Vietnam
In 1972-73, The Sunday Punchers attacked targets in North Vietnam, as superbly recounted in Launch The Intruders, by Carol Reardon. Fifty years later, squadron members returned to Vietnam and visited places they had once attacked with A-6’s launched off the USS Saratoga.
On the return visit to Vietnam, film maker Matt Nolan went along to chronicle the journey. Attendees of the 2024 Intruder Reunion are getting a sneak peak of the historic documentary.
As an amateur historian of the Intruder, I am excited to see new images of the Intruder in combat. I am also intrigued to see how they will be greeted by the Vietnamese people.
